Group Support Overview

The ZixGateway Group Support feature allows you to set up groups of email addresses and then create policies in ZixGateway Manager that use this list against the From address of an email message. There are two ways to configure your egroups:

• By manually creating a list that associates an email address with a group through the egroups.conf file. See Creating eGroups Manually for more information.
• By integrating with your existing LDAP directory using the configuration settings in the ldap_egroups.conf file. See Creating eGroups to Use LDAP for more information.

Once you have created your egroups using one of these methods, you must set up policies in your ZixGateway Manager to work with these eGroups.

ZixCorp recommends that you set up eGroups using LDAP if you intend to have more than 25 individual email addresses in any policy.
